Dr. David Choi specializes in "customized dentistry". Customized dentistry is the best term used in explaining Dr. Choi's style of dentistry. He puts pride in his work and his dexterity can be seen clearly. He customizes each and every step with his patients from start to finish in order to provide the patient with the brightest smile possible.

In simple terms, a veneer is cosmetic makeup of the natural teeth by porcelain.
As someone who specializes in "customized dentistry", Dr. Choi does a diagnostic wax-up before each treatment, therefore the patients are able to see the anticipated results.

As a dentist who understands the significance of saving teeth, Dr. Choi always recommends the minimally invasive and conservative tooth reduction procedures. Depending on case by case basis, he may even recommend a no reduction procedure.

As a specialist in creation of dentures, he works with the patient in customizing a special, individual treatment plan because everyone's teeth have their own unique structures, size, and colors. Dr. Choi never sends his dentures to dental labs and each and every one of his patient's teeth are made by hand in his own office.

Special care and skill is a must in creation of dentures that look real is as important as those that function just like real teeth. Patients are able to see their teeth before the final touches in order to choose their tooth color, and shape before the final product at our office.

After graduating from University of Southern California's dental school, Dr. Choi did an extra 3 years of advanced education in prosthodontics at Loma Linda University's dental school. As a prosthodontist, he can take care of your most complicated restoration needs with the use of dental implants.

He always up to date with the information related to the new technology associated with dental implants, and you can be assured that he is accredited and certified from the American Dental Association.

Cosmetic Crowns

Crowns are dental restorations otherwise known as "caps" which are coverings that fit over teeth. Crowns are necessary because of broken down old fillings, fractured, chipped or sensitive teeth. Crowns are also used to improve the appearance of natural teeth that are malformed, malpositioned or discoloured.

Crowns are made from natural looking porcelain and are made to improve the overall smile or to blend in with your own teeth. Sometimes an underlying metal shell is used under the porcelain if additional strength is needed.

Some of the indications for a crown are:

A previously filled tooth where there now exists more filling than tooth. The existing tooth structure becomes weakened and can no longer support the filling.
Extensive damage by decay
Discolorations and compromised aesthetics
Root canal treatment – After root canal treatment teeth tend to become brittle and are more prone to fracture. These teeth need to be protected by a crown.

Dr. David Choi uses three ways to bleach the teeth.
1. Zoom bleach, which is a light activated in-office bleaching
2. The at home bleaching with a custom fit tray
3. And the over the counter bleaching strips.

The in-office bleaching, Zoom, produces fast results; however, Dr. Choi believes that the ultimate effect is not great as the at home bleaching.

Dr. Choi recommends the second option of the home bleaching system with the custom fit tray. However, many patients prefer the fast and convenient Zoom bleaching, and Dr. Choi provides Zoom at his offices
